  1. I saw him many years ago on some artsy channel talk show where they asked him to compose something on the spot. Since it was a college artsy thing the moderator asked if anyone had a text book with them. Several did so they took one randomly and the moderator turned to any page and set it on the piano. EJ quickly read thru the page then put it to music on the piano they had there. He may be a flaming faggot, but his is a musical genius, I have to give him that!

From what I understand Elton John is extremely personable. We grew up listening to his most awesome music. Back in the day there was a movie, Aloha Bobbie and Rose that personified his artistry for me. And then we find out he’s gay. I dunno. Those were some good memories.

I really like that movie. I remember, as a young kid (8 yrs old), being at the drive-in and the trailer for Aloha came on. I vividly remembered “Bennie and the Jets” playing in the background and it haunted me for years…what the hell was the movie title? Being a kid I didn’t pay attention to the name of the movie. Finally, 40 + years later, thanks to YT, I clicked on the trailer and a flood of memories came back. Now it’s in my dvd collection.

I rambled enough. It never bothered me that Elton was gay…his songs and musicianship were always top notch and that’s all that mattered to me. I just hate when they push the political bullshit like he has in the past few years. World is too divided to ever be like it was during the best years of my life.
