Emergency Slide Falls Off Boeing Plane, Discovered Outside Home of Lawyer Whose Firm Is Suing Boeing

GP: An emergency slide that fell off a Boeing 767 passenger aircraft shortly after taking flight last week was discovered two days later outside the home of a lawyer whose firm is currently suing Boeing over manufacturing safety issues.

Attorney Jake Bissell-Linsk, whose firm is currently suing Boeing due to one of its planes losing a door plug during a flight in January, discovered the emergency slide from Delta Airlines Flight 520 washed ashore on some rocks outside his oceanfront home in New York City.

In a statement to the New York Post, Bissel-Linsk shared, “I didn’t want to touch it, but I got close enough to get a close look at it.”

Shortly after Bissell-Linsk made the discovery, a crew of Delta workers were called out to remove the emergency slide from the rocks. more

  1. Boeing should always carry a box or two of Gorilla Tape extra extra strong, so they don’t have to make long stops when securing engines that come loose.

  2. A couple days ago there was a post explaining why the pic of the iron skillet was used to accompany a post on the main page. Now I’m flummoxed by the pic of the steam iron, and how it correlates to stuff falling off airplanes.

  3. Angus, Perhaps it’s symbolic of New York’s great ‘Raining Iron’ disaster of 1932 under Governor Franklin D. Roosevelt.

Or, on the other hand, steam irons do tend to fall off the ironing board at the drop of a hat because they’re not secured. You know, little Billy comes crawling into the laundry room, pulls on the power cord, and BAM! RIGHT IN THE HEAD! Billy’s father is a lawyer and sues the iron manufacturer for negligence (unsecured, child-harming device… Billy was most assuredly BURNED AND DISFIGURED, as well! Oh, the pain and suffering is unimaginable!!).

    Thus, the symbolic Iron.

  4. I told my boss unless I fly myself, I am NOT going on these excursions I am expected to participate in. Having my own Private Pilot License, I am NOT going on these idiotic field trips unless the corporate ups my life insurance 10 times the nominal amount. I would like my flying time reflect on the time to upgrade my ratings. As an FYI, the last commercial flight I was on had the Pilots seat break loose and had to return to base to weld it back in place. And this was all before DEI
