ESPN’s Jay Williams slams NBA players for being ‘tone-deaf’, living in a ‘billion-dollar bubble’

ESPN basketball analyst Jay Williams ripped players who are complaining about living conditions inside the NBA’s Disney World bubble, calling them “tone deaf” and challenging them to think about the “real everyday working Americans.”

In a video posted to Twitter on Sunday, Williams – who was a standout on Duke’s 2001 NCAA championship team before a motorcycle accident two years later effectively ended his NBA career – called out the handful of players who have taken to social media to grumble about the NBA’s bubble-like atmosphere in Orlando, Fla.

Stars like the 76ers’ Joel Embiid and the Lakers’ J.R. Smith in the past few days have mocked the meals being provided to all 22 NBA teams, while Smith’s teammate, Rajon Rondo, compared his luxurious hotel room to a Motel 6.

“NBA players cannot be tone-deaf. My NBA brothers, you cannot be tone-deaf right now in this current environment,” Williams said. “We all know the life that NBA players live, you are blessed, get a chance to be on planes, get a chance to have millions of dollars in your bank account, you live a different level of life. But that is drastically different than what real everyday working Americans are going through right now. more here

  1. It will be interesting to see how various teams and players take to this new permissiveness in allowing SJW messages on their court floors and jerseys.
I will especially be watching the Jazz, as Utah is a fairly conservative state. (except for the crowded Libtard enclave of SLC metroplex) How far will the Jazz push it? In which direction? How much will the fans tolerate before the “get woke, go broke” tipping point?

  2. I gave up on the NBA when Howard Schulz the CEO of Starschmucks and owner of the Seattle Supersonics sold them to Oklahoma City after he said he wouldn’t sell the Sonics or move them. My brother who lives in Seattle hates both Starschmucks and Howard Schulz because of that.

  3. Wouldn’t it be funny, and educational, if all the the NBA players got the Chi Com Virus then we would have proof positive that it can be transferred to a lower species of animal!

  4. Bird, Magic, Jordan and others led an NBA renaissance that lasted decades. It took a handful of dipshits only a few years to wreck it. The fat lady is singing on the deck of the sailing ship. Nobody gives a fuck anymore and nobody ever will.

  5. Let’s see NBA, NFL and sadly MLB are no longer a part of my world. Holding out hope that the NHL won’t bow to the Marxist bigots but they probably will.

Sorry to have to tell you, but the NHL is going down the same tubes. NHL boss Bettman is marketing to queers. Last year the NHL Kings had a queer night. I mean they opened up to the queers. Not the players, management. I can see sports hosting BLM and Antifa nights as they try to capitalize on the insanity engulfing the world. Scumbags.

To hell with all sports and entertainment. I no longer need any of it in my life.

  7. As for the Washington NFL team, which has caved to the pressure, I suggest a few new team names: Jellyfish, Cream Puffs, Marshmallows, and Chocolate Eclairs.

The Navahos want the team name to be changed to Code Talkers. Younger fans, if there are any left, will be asking “What is a code talker?” While they were at it, the Navahos should have demanded the team name be changed to “Navahos”. At least it sounds better that “Code Talkers”.

Very few people have the guts to stand up anymore. Instead of being leaders, CEO’s are worthless as dog turds.
