Evidence suggests a brutal cartel kidnapped and tortured California mom

LZ:

Recently freed California mom Sherri Papini who was tortured and branded by her captors was likely the victim of a kidnapping gone awry by a Mexican sex-trafficking ring, according to a private investigator who worked on the case.

The case seems to underline how America’s porous borders enable criminals and other bad elements to enter the United States seeking victims. Mexican crime syndicates have become more active north of the border in recent years. The Redding area in Northern California has become an important corridor for sex traffickers in recent years.

San Diego-based private investigator Bill Garcia volunteered to work on the case of Sherri Papini, a married mother of two, who was abducted while jogging on Nov. 2 near her home in tiny Mountain Gate, which is near the community of Redding on Interstate 5 as it stretches through Shasta County in Northern California.

The Redding area is a primary sex-trafficking corridor, according to Garcia.

    JD,

That ones pretty close to home. It’s true. That family is damn lucky she’s still alive.

    ————————-

Probably closer to home for me. There’s lots of marijuana grown in the area as well as in mine and yours Brad. I-5 is a perfect interstate to do such a thing. I think when they knew they weren’t going to get anywhere with her, they dumped her. She fits the bill, pretty and blond.

  2. Anonymous:
My daughter and her family live just north of there. And she’s a runner. Same profile. She now runs with a Glock 19 strapped up. But the Weed grows and Mex Mafia are out of control. Up and down Highway 5 actually.

  3. My fears of such came about when buxom blond daughter dearest was born 48 years ago, and reinforced when blond grand daughter dearest was born 18 years ago. Had daughter take martial arts when pre teen, until she learned to kill in self defence.

    Goldenfoxx,
How close are you to Yreka?
    ——————————–

I’m at the lake that is bigger than Shasta. Largest earth filled man made dam in the world. Thirty miles from the smallest mountain range in the world – The Buttes. Oroville. I know Redding well, I was raised in California.

  5. Goldenfoxx,

I’ve fished Oroville a bunch, Duck hunt on the Colusa Gridley highway close to Gridley, Daughter graduated from Chico State, and we sell guns to Huntingtons. I bet we’ve crossed paths. I should move out there. I’ve never seen so many Crack Heads as in Oroville lately.

  6. Brad, druggies are every where. My parents use to live on Scotts Flat Lake in Nevada City. There were meth labs all throughout that area. I walk the dam here every day. Oroville and Bullards Bar are well known for the bass. We have lots of bass fisherman who come here just for that. Chico is up the road from us – 20 miles. BTW, the black guy that went missing here in February, a fisherman found his body in water a month ago. Him and his dog set out to find themselves, the dog went home but he didn’t. Huntingtons is right next to RCBS for the ones who load their own. I just talked to Bonnie Huntington yesterday. Small world.

If you know Bonnie, and have been in the store, you probably know Len. That guy has the driest sense of humor of anyone I’ve ever met.
I am a bass fisherman. Complete with 75 mph Bass Blaster. I just have been able to do ducks or bass for the last couple years because of the economy. Always working.

  8. I live about 80 miles from Mt. Gate. The son of my best friend has done some research that suggests that Mrs. Papini is a bit of a radical herself, often at odds with Mexicans and other minorities. There is apparently quite a history with her and the folks from the other side of the track. Check it out for yourselves.

  9. These people need to be made to serve as an example for the next ten generations of subhuman garbage, of what they can expect in retribution for things like this.

They should not be able to survive a day in northern California. The forests can probably use the fertilizer.

  10. dumbplumber,

I’m confused. From what you wrote it sounds like she didn’t care for the Mex Mafia much, early on. But she has a checkered past. I’m not understanding what you are eluding to.
I can’t think of much that she would have done to deserve being kidnapped, beaten, sexually assaulted, and branded.

  11. Lazlo travels AZ with both rifle and handguns these days.
    Getting wild out there.
As for the kidnappers: Brazen Bull.
If we can’t find a bronze bull, a dumpster will do, or a storage container.

  12. Did anyone see the husband’s interview on 48 Hours a few nights ago?

I watched intently and his behavior was so bizarre. His affect, avoidance of eye contact,
real struggle to muster tears and just couldn’t produce a drop, and oddly smiling while at the same time quivering voice and still no tears.

The placement of her cell phone was odd and I don’t know if my first instinct would be to snap 2 photos of it rather than picking it up.
He also made a few contradictory statements, e.g. said the abductors wore masks the entire time so his wife couldn’t tell what they looked like, and later he described what they looked like.
There was just something really off with him. Seemed like a lotta drama and bad acting.

I hate to be suspicious in these situations, and I agree everyone processes trauma differently, but I wouldn’t be shocked IF this turns out to be something other than abduction.

  13. Engelburka Engelburka,

You should have told us you worked for the enquirer. They bailed out of there house tonight because she’s scared shitless. Called a freind to feed their dogs. He says he doubts if they’re coming back. Absolutely, these people should be held accountable. However I’m wondering for what?

  14. Did you see the interview or not? I’m merely stating MY observation based on his behavior in the interview. If you didn’t see it, don’t offer your opinion on my comment.
The Enquirer – that’s frickin hilarious.

Seems like you have an inside track since you know their every move, but I don’t know how wise it is to broadcast it.
And I’m completely lost on the “hold them accountable” comment. I don’t even know what that means.
Bottom line, I have no idea what did or didn’t transpire. I wasn’t speaking to that though was I?
Do you feel it’s appropriate to verbally insult others with whom you disagree? I thought this site was a cool place to hang out because for the most part everyone is respectful, good humorous banter and rarely do I see anyone other than you personally attacking other commenters.

    Relax dude.

  15. I watched the interview, you should be parked across the street from their 1500 sq ft home with the rest of the blood suckers. All based on “shifty eyes”. Would you go what she went thru for some unforeseen pay off? I hope you get the chance.

  16. Wow you’re a nasty one aren’t you? You’ve totally misconstrued EVERY FRICKIN THING I SAID and launched strawmen grenades all over the place. Did you work for Vox?

The lowest lob is wishing I “get the chance to be raped”. You’re either drunk off your ass or demented.

Look Rambo, I don’t know what your problem is, but I’m pretty sure it’s hard to pronounce.

Do me a favor and up vote me while you’re doing your own. Peace out precious.

  17. “I watched intently and his behavior was so bizarre. His affect, avoidance of eye contact,

In case they really are victims, fuck off.

  18. @Engelburka Engelburka—my wife also watched the interview, and she said pretty much the same thing you did. I haven’t watched it, but I do think this seems fishy. However, I’m in Ohio, spawning ground of serial killers and heroin addicts, so what do I know? LOL
