  1. Chevy Bolts are just as big or worse POS’s than Chevy Vega’s, Chevettes (we called them shove its), Chevy Citations, Chevy Cavaliers and that late 80’s piece of crap Chevy I had for a few years with the always peeling paint that was named after a pirate. Lemons all, but Volts and Bolts are hybrid and electric powered POS’s. Hell, Corvairs especially the later models after 65 were far better than Bolts and will be remembered well, I loved the Corvair Monza’s. And eff Ralph Nader, Chevy should’ve kept the Corvair and never built Vegas which along with Pinto’s, Gremlins, Pacers, anything AMC etc. were the the biggest POS’s of the 70’s.

  2. And the 8 track tape would skip and play all the tracks at once like they always did. 8 tracks were another POS casualty of the 70’s just like the crappy cars of that decade. I also forgot the horrible, gutless, weenie Mustang 2 in that list of crappy 70’s cars.

I know but they worked when they worked until they were a tangled mess. Considering the alternative which would be a portable record player, it rocked when not balling up inside your machine.

  4. I don’t know about Bolts, but my 18 yr old Honda might still be on the road in 50 years. I’ve been saying for 8 years, “this is the year it dies,” but it doesn’t. Been able to do most repairs myself, the most expensive was $400 for front struts. It could use a ton of body work, but that’s the best thing about it with people around me who don’t care about my stuff, it makes me not care about my own stuff. Let assholes throw their doors into it, IDGAF.

  5. “This is the best Christmas present ever”.
No shit, with $30,000 worth of restoration!!!
Next episode will have the mixed-race grandson inherit the Impala and turn it into a ridiculous low rider with hydraulics.

  6. Damned dust from the rebuild must’ve blown on through the monitor.
    Hand me the Kleenex.

  7. The only thing that will make you cry if you own a Bolt is being stranded in the middle Oklahoma and can’t get a can of electricity for the car!

Or any of the other states for that matter!

  8. It’s a ’66 Impala, but the lines and color are very much like that of my old ’67 Chevelle, enough to bring back a flood of memories of people and places and good times. Sigh!!!

  9. ouch. My eyes are watering. Its a very well done story.

Mine was a 58 chevy impala convertible.
Then it was a 67 mustang fastback
Then it was a 63 falcon sprint convertible
    then it was…

  10. Bought my first car when I got my BA/BS. A used Ford Fairlane (1962) for $450.

I have upgraded on every car since then.

Never owned a Chevy; but the add hit me hard any way! Almost makes me wish I had had a Chevy.
