I’ve seen fire and I’ve seen rain
I’ve sung many songs that everyone thought would never end
I’ve had many times when I considered John Kerry a friend
But I always thought that there was a chance I might be relevant again
or ……
I’ve been told my voice is such a pain
I’ve made ears bleed ’cause my songs would never end
I’ve had many times when I could not tell my head from my rear end
And I’ve been cucked by Warren Beatty … time & time again
A guy who couldn’t even hang onto 1975 Carly Simon thinks he can deliver World Peace.
James Taylor and Jon Fraud Kerry could sing their famous duet “You’ve Got a Friend ” and squash all the Islamic acrimony – just like they did in Paris – see how well that worked.
They are beside themselves, the counter culture is now conservatives, it’s killin’ the baby seals, unicorns and Puff is now prescribed by your doctor.
I’ve seen liars and I’m insane
I’ve seen liberals that are just as lame
I’ve heard muzzie lies that I could not explain
But I never though I’d see work again!
This guy was the prototype for Snow Flakes
oh my…..
I confess. I started out as a fan and chatted on James Taylor On-line back in 1998 or so. I even met him (I think?) way back in 1980 or so when we used to frequent a certain tavern up near New Milford, CT. Funny how my POV on music and society has changed.
Most of us who grew up in the 60’s and 70’s who liked his music as well as Cat Stevens, Peter, Paul and Mary etc. have all grown up and have long since forgotten them. Until the last baby boomer dies they’ll still slink around just barely in our faded memories and radio stations still playing their music. When they get to elevator music status or start playing small Indian casinos we’ll know they’ve outlived their welcome. I’m not a fan anymore, gave it up a long time ago so I could keep my sanity. And besides who can afford $50-$100 or more to go to their concerts, I sure as heck can’t.
Why do most old folkies and Keith Richards, Ozzy Osbourne etc. all look like death warmed over?
@geoff the aardvark – drugs.
I knew that, it was a rhetorical question. When Keith Richards finally dies they won’t have to embalm him, he’s already well preserved from all the legal and illegal drugs he’s taken during his lifetime.
Jimmy, m’boy, gracefully fade away. It’s the right thing to do.
Gotta love Hep C generation. Most of ’em won’t make 70.
Yer so vain.
Heh. Nice
You prob’ly think this song is about ya.
