FEDS GET “MINIMUM WAGE” OF $100K

Canada Free Press: As Americans struggle to make ends meet, federal government employees are taking home a “minimum wage” of $100,000 and getting two months paid vacation after a mere three years of employment, according to government watchdog group Open the Books.

President Trump is theoretically in charge of the federal government, but that doesn’t mean he controls the fat cat federal bureaucrats in the Democrat-dominated civil service, many of whom within the Beltway work every day to undermine his policies. He even ordered a pay raise for federal employees in the new year, although the increase is smaller than what had been scheduled had he not acted.

With a workforce of 2 million people, the U.S. government is one of the most generous employers around, shelling out more than $1 million a minute in pay and benefits to its employees, for a total north of $136 billion a year in fiscal 2016, according to the report titled “Mapping the Swamp, A Study of the Administrative State.” The study excludes 742,000 civilian employees at the Department of Defense as well as the 1.3 million men and women on active duty.

Out of control federal pay is driven by the unrestrained greed of government workers’ unions that keeps upward pressure on wages, making feds increasingly removed from the everyday American experience. As the nation plunges deeper and deeper in debt, governments at all levels find themselves unable to meet their obligations, yet public employees continue to press their demands for unreasonable compensation and benefits. All across the country, rapacious government unions are eating taxpayers alive, while working feverishly to shape the political battlefield to their own advantage—under cover of a crusade for “social justice.” Instead of serving as a check on government power, government employee unions function as an unelected fourth branch of government, augmenting its power at taxpayer expense.

This makes draining the Washington swamp especially difficult, or as President Ronald Reagan remarked in 1983, “It’s hard, when you’re up to your armpits in alligators, to remember you came here to drain the swamp.”  read more

  1. We pay people to destroy us.
The ultimate insult – and we’re too stupid to figure it out.

Shame on us. They’re just a bunch of greasy maggots – we’re the coconut heads in this story.

“Good work if you can get it!”

    izlamo delenda est …

  2. The first construction job I ever worked was as a non union laborer bringing materials to the union carpenters. The head of the Carpenter’s pulled me aside on first day and told me that he didn’t want to see me with so much as a tape measure or hammer. That was unions work and wouldn’t be tolerated. One day some concrete forms had to be disassembled down in a area full of mud up to the knees. They started to hand out prybars and hammers to all the laborers. I was the only one who refused by reminding them of our deal. I expected backlash but actually to my surprise gained respect.

  3. Fire everyone, make everyone independent contractors that have to bid for their jobs with a hard top end of 85% of like private sector wages (including bennies) for same state.

  4. Left my government job in 1988 because of union at my office – they took a 1 1/2 hour “drinking lunch” three days a week. We worked “flexdays” (4 10 days per week (7am to 530pm) per day).

The bosses worked 8am to 4:30pm so they goofed off (sports recap) till 8am, took a break at 10am, lunch, afternoon break at 230pm, and then discussed the evening sports fom 430pm til closing. Most of them were Gs-11’s and 12’s with 25-30 years service waiting for retirement.

If you were a serious worker, had a work ethic, or really cared it was difficult because the “union was their shepherd.” can’t imagine what it must be like now.

I worked in “strategic logistics” in a secured Secret/Higher classifications on a program who name was coded. We also were BUILDING the baby internet.

But there was still the union BS. Left and went back to working in human services and took a $15,000 pay cut (my choice).

But I could look at myself in the mirror again. It might have been different if I worked in a client service job like the VA or SSA.

  5. Shouldn’t these greasy parasites be feeling some heat for their greed and contempt for us taxpaying idiots who carry them?

At the minimum they should be exposed to our resentment.
    Shun them.
Point out their avarice to them and to their neighbors.

Many of these shlubs are the last to give to charity (Biden) or to do any civic duty (they already consider themselves above the rest of us because they’re “public servants”! )

  6. Teddy Roosevelt started the Civil Service program to eliminate the spoils system.

But in many ways we’d be better off with a spoils system because we’d be able to shitcan the lot of ’em every time a Republican is elected.
