Feds Make Overpayments Of More Than $100 Billion A Year

Comptroller General  Gene Dodaro recently informed the senate that some of the payments should have never been made,  others were for the wrong amount and so far it’s added up to over $1 trillion.  “Medicare, Medicaid and the Earned Income Tax Credit — account for most (75 percent) of the improper payments. But there are a number of programs across government where this problem is an issue,” Dodaro said.

  1. they don’t care it’s not “their” money and just how do you lose a billion let alone a 100 billion, real tough to do.

    I would bet it’s in one of their pockets, just look, can’t be too hard, the feds has everyone’s bank account information already. if they can’t find it, it’s because they don’t want to.

    when are the adults going to be in charge again ?

  2. I’m wondering how a government department can estimate the value of overpayments in their programs without making changes to stop the problems. Are they just rolling dice and multiplying the amount by a bunch? Does the number include deliberate fraud?
