Bernie reminds me of a guy who’s story was featured in SI a couple or three decades ago.
The guy was an avowed Marxist and owned a race track. His owning a race track is what tied him to sports of a sort, and thus worthy of an article in SI.
I also knew a couple of Marxists back in the 70’s who just happened to make their living by being landlords. Then there was Engels, who supported Marx for many years through ownership of some factories.
