Feelings, Nothing More Than Feelings – Media Tries To Pull On Heart Strings in Illegal Alien Debate

He works hard. He loves his family. Like a lot of us, he’s got problems. Should he be deported?

“Like a lot of us, he’s got problems.”

My eyes have just been opened. I’ve got problems. He’s got problems. The author of the piece writes “got,” instead of “have.” He’s folksy. We’re all relatable. Kumbaya, My Lor…(sniff)

Ahhhh, no.

Throw him the hell out. And, ya know what? Throw his wife out too. (More on that later.)

I’m not big on sympathy when it comes to people who break the law and drag America down with it. And I’m not big on people who attempt to get me to sympathize in order to get me to participate in something that doesn’t serve my best interests, but serves theirs.

She’s been married for a little more than a month, a newlywed by any standard.

But there has been no honeymoon for Maria Bonilla. There has been no celebration.

Instead, Bonilla — a 35-year-old mother of five — has spent more than two months wrestling with anxiousness and uncertainty, waiting for a federal immigration court judge to rule on the fate of her new husband, Leobel Bonilla Gomez, and their family.

Who gets to stay? Who has to go? And what happens to families, especially innocent children, separated by the federal government in the process of grappling with these increasingly partisan dilemmas?

Highlighted by the same shortcomings and redeeming qualities that define the human experience, Bonilla Gomez’s story defies the black-and-white narratives both sides of the immigration debate often cling to.

He’s also an individual who has struggled with alcohol addiction — with two DUIs and a dismissed, alcohol-related domestic violence charge on his record.

Now, with his future in the hands of an immigration judge, all of it is on the table.

Originally from Guatemala, Bonilla Gomez is an undocumented immigrant, having lived in the United States since 2006.

According to Maria Bonilla, in late October Leobel was detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents while taking his kids to the dentist in Puyallup.

Less than a month later, the couple was married, inside the Northwest Detention Center.

The marriage was about love — the couple has been together for many years and had often discussed it — but it also has potential legal advantages.

“It was very romantic,” Maria Bonilla said of the marriage last week, joking through an interpreter.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Through AN INTERPRETER!??!!

Mother of five. She can’t afford them.

We are suckers!

  1. Why is it that people who are in the country illegally are to be given everything they need while the people who are in the country legally are not only supposed to pay for themselves, but the illegals as well?

This is fairness? This is justice? When you reward something you get more of it. When you punish something you get less of it. Why is that such a hard concept to understand?

  2. 100% of ILLEGALS are law breakers. The end, they don’t belong here and I don’t care if they come because they want a better life or because they want to rape, assault, steal, sexually abuse and/or kill the first American they can. The minute they come here ILLEGALLY they are breaking the law and insulting the millions of people that come here LEGALLY. Trump needs to clarify that too. Screw emotion and sob stories. And if you want to go that route I demand equal time for the stories of American citizens that have died at the hands and actions of the illegals that continue to waltz in and out of this country because of the lack of border security and sanctuary policies.

  3. Emotions are not the issue – illegal imports that break our laws by being here are the issue.
Want to play the heartstrings game; lets talk to the families of Kate Steinle and Ronil Singh, for starters, shall we?
You can tell them how we don’t need better border security.

  4. Yes, taking his five kids to the dentist, with us picking up the bills. I remember the first time they tried to work our give-a-shit meters with this family of leeches. Send them all home together. 🤬🤬🤬

  5. It makes you want to puke when they fawn over these invaders. I have all the sympathy for them as I did for clock boy. It’s alot like having a rodent infestation in your house.
