Nat Silver fivethirtyeight
here’s what I do know: the Senate is an enormous problem for Democrats given the current political coalitions, in which Democrats are dominant in cities while Republicans triumph in rural areas. And because the Senate is responsible for confirming Supreme Court picks, that means the Supreme Court is a huge problem for Democrats too. Sure, Democrats might win back the Senate this year — indeed, they were slight favorites to do so before the Ginsburg news. But in the long run, they’re likely to lose it more often than not. More
Maybe before give statehood to D.C. and Puerto Rico or dividing up California and New York to gain 6 or more new Senate seats, the left should reconsider revoking the 17th Amendment. – Dr. Tar
Can’t we just lose all of those rural votes? It wouldn’t be hard, we just contact the postal service and tell them what to do
dem senators represent 167M and R senators represent 160M yet the split is 47-53. Tough shit for you than.
When the tech companies quit censoring conservatives, when the MSM isn’t 92-8 in favor of REgressives, when Hollywood is making movies celebrating America again, when colleges stop overwhelmingly turning out millions of young adults that are clueless along with the teacher’s unions having first crack at those same people and when this woke crap killing our corporations ends get back to me.
Until then, eat a bag of dicks.
Dicks Hamburgers in downtown Spokane has a sign with Andy Panda on it (it was originally the Panda Drive in) that says Buy them by the bagful. So maybe once upon more innocent times you could buy a bag of Dicks.
As commenter Mystaclean said in this thread…

Soros was going after state SOS offices along with his AG project. Soros has figured out the Democrat Senate problem which Nate Silver articulated. Soros will be coming for your red state SOS offices, because that is the path to flipping the Senate. You may have two GOP Senators in your state, but all Soros needs is one of them here and there to flip control.
Avoid special elections, if possible, as this creates an ideal environment for chicanery. Arizona and Georgia are real nail-biters this year because of special elections. GOP Senators should retire at the end of their term, not in the middle, if at all possible. And pay attention to your vote for SOS and the method by which they are selected or elected.
This is the he United States, this is the Union of states rights.
They have a strong belief in States Rights when it serves their purpose.
Geoff the Aardvark — Haha! We’ve got two Dick’s Burgers near us. We don’t have them very often (anymore), but whenever I do go for takeout I ask Geoff C. if he wants “a bag of Dick’s”!
When I was in HS 50 years ago Dicks was our favorite hangout on Friday night after football and basketball games. We could buy 3 cheeseburgers, large fries and a coke for about $1.10. Now I can’t even feed my self and my daughter when we go there on occasion for less than $15 to 20 dollars. And they finally started taking debit and credit cards about 2 years ago after being strictly cash only forever which makes them even more appealing now. They do still have the best fish and chips in town. It’s also a good thing I can’t eat like I did when I was in my teens because I’d go broke and my food Nazi daughters would kill me.
The 17th Amendment effectively eliminated the bicameral legislature. With both the House and Senate members now being elected by popular vote, we have House #1 and House #2.
