    …I never got past Hochdeutsch from book learning and technical manual lesen, so I didn’t get to work out the more colloquial kind

    Here’s my dilemma;
    I wanted to say “Fuck Joe Biden” in German, but I have heard the verbs “Bumsen” and “Ficken” BOTH used for this, sometimes interchangeably. Which one carries the NONsexual connotation meant to be conveyed here better, and what is the proper conjugation in this context? Pretty sure we don’t want it in the sense of respectful “Sie Ficken”, but more like the insulting familiar sense of “Du fick”, but Im unsure if that’s the right conjugation or not, amd the Interwebs isnt helpful since its kinda slangy. Little help?

  7. I’d like to believe this but everything I’ve seen on the coverage of the queen’s funeral, the Brits have been somber and respectful to a fault to everybody. I wish it were true but I believe it’s an audio track added to the video.

Not only this, but the jackass was ten minutes late to the church (because he was too important to ride in the bus with the other heads of state), and walked behind one of the processions, and then stumbled into his seat in the 14th row after a discussion with the usher. What an embarrassment.

  9. ^^^^^^^Not only that, the demented old bastard poked one of the church officials in the belly as he & the lot lizard were shuffling into Westminster. But, CNN or MSNBC said that there was a huge cheer from the Brits as they exited the limo. Bullshit. Also, the husk had to refer to a notecard when signing the remembrance book, as he is incapable of having an original thought that can be put to paper.

  10. @SNS — For the non-literal, not actual sexual intercourse, German phrase for anything like “fuck you” I’ve heard Fick but also commonly Scheiß, which of course translates literally to Shit.

    My first choice for a colloquial translation of “Fuck Joe Biden” would be “Scheiß auf Joe Biden”.

    Kindly please note that my highly corroded knowledge of German is from a looooong time ago.

    Thank you. Long time ago or not, I knew I was talking to the right person, given your Erasmian sweep of knowledge of things in general and language in particular. I run out of ways to curse Pedo Joe in English, so I’m working on more international ways to give him the “honors” he deserves. I appreciate your reply.
