The Republican-led House of Representatives has taken up the controversial election integrity bill SB 90 —the measure that prohibits ballot drop boxes and ballot harvesting —and House Democrats have responded in the debate by painting the measure as racist and a modern day Jim Crow Law.
The vote passed in the House by a vote count of 77 to 40.
During the debate of the bill, Republican House members argued against the widely propagated narrative that Republicans were pushing for voter suppression, especially against minority communities, and made their case that this bill would protect the integrity of Florida’s election process. read more
When someone calls these vote integrity laws “Jim Crow” laws, they should be asked to show exactly which “Jim Crow” law they are referring to and shy, just so it would be made clear what they are talking about.
The democrats are screaming because the bill SB90 is laser guided directly to one of their preferred voting scams. An as effective work around may be a problem for them.
If the Dems can’t cheat the election, they can’t win – and they know it.
Good to see Florida try to regain some semblance of voter integrity.
I’m pretty sure they’ll still have the Corrupt Courts to contend with.

Awesome. Keep the foot on the gas, Florida! Let the Democrats show their true colors. The “Jim Crow” argument will fall flat.
In Tallahassee, we have already had to provide driver’s license for scanning to prove identity and proper precinct. Scanning in the license and then signing the register has been done for years. The last election, we signed the electronic pad instead of registration log, but that may have been because we voted early at a regional city wide location. Electronic signatures never look good, but now, that’s what you get on the license itself. Besides, the next generation doesn’t know how to even write their names.
Hopefully, when Florida gets the new added congressional district, they can eliminate this crazy gerrymandered district (formerly Corine Brown formerly snaking along I4 from Jacksonville to central Florida, now along I10 from Jacksonville to Tallahassee). It kept Gwen Graham from running again for Congress when they carved out her liberal Leon County base, but screwed us up. At least Al Lawson is more literate than Go Gatas.
Andrew Gillum’s butt is all healed up and he’s ready to have another go at the Florida governorship. Will this law be a problem for him?
