Ford Nixes 1.6 Billion Dollar Investment in Mexico – Going To Michigan

Newser-

The automaker on Tuesday announced that it will no longer construct what was to be a $1.6 billion plant in Mexico and will instead create 700 new jobs in Michigan by way of a $700 million investment in the state. CEO Mark Fields made clear that “we didn’t cut a deal with Trump,” who had been highly critical of the planned Mexico move, though Fields did speak with him Tuesday morning. “We did it for our business.” That said, he called it a “vote of confidence” in the pro-business America Trump has vowed to foster, reports CNN.

The Michigan money will be spent at its Flat Rock plant, where it will manufacture more electric and autonomous cars.

  1. “… manufacture more electric and autonomous cars.”

FORD should know better. There must still be substantial gov’t subsidies (theft from the taxpayers) for these stupid, useless, deadly projects.

    izlamo delenda est …

  2. Yet another racist company that held back creating jobs in America because of the race of the Oh-bummer.

An interesting question is – how soon after Jan 20th will economic growth rate be > 2x the highest growth rate during the 8 years of the Oh-bummer administration.? 8% by Aug ?

Aug would be great timing, that’s when my son finishes school, he might be able to find a decent job.

And no Barry, Trump doesn’t have a magic want that creates jobs, he’s just not a fool like you that killed jobs.

  3. Ford was moving some of it’s small car manufacturing to mexico so it could build MORE SUVs and pickups in Michigan etc. They can sell more than they can build right now.
