The long-running true crime reality show Forensic Files is one of my all-time favorite television shows. But that doesn’t mean I would expect its reruns (the show ended in 2011) to wallop some of MSNBC’s top brands and names in the ratings. During the third quarter of this year, that is exactly what happened.
Years-old HLN reruns of Forensic Files averaged 258,000 total viewers compared to 253,000 for MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell, 239,000 for Joy Reid, 227,000 for Jose Diaz-Balart, and 221,000 for Ronan Farrow.
.
What’s this “MSNBC” you refer to? I asked a bunch of people and they didn’t know either.
I helped contribute to that.
I think MSNBC is a news satire station run by Mad Magazine.
DOH! I meant ran by Mad. Sometimes me thinks like Rev. Al.
There are two possibilities here.
1 — There are so many channels available that it dilutes the pool of viewers that need MSNBC as their news source.
2 — There are so many channels available that it dilutes the pool of viewers that just don’t give a shit about the Obamablows at MSNBC.
Hmmm. Maybe there IS only one possibility…
I’d like to be a fly on the wall at the board meeting at MSNBC where the news readers are brought in, one by one, and they have to explain how they are still a viable and relevant news source.
@ Bo Tsar- That’s a good idea, an animated Alfred E. Neuman.
Fur- I prefer DEXTER reruns. I have all eight years’ DVDs.
