ET: A former Border Patrol chief in the Obama administration, who was fired by the Trump administration in 2017, told national television on March 21 that there is “absolutely a national emergency” at the U.S.-Mexico border.
Mark Morgan, who served as Obama’s Border Patrol chief for most of 2016, told Fox Business’s “Mornings with Maria” that there was an undeniable state of crisis at the border.
“It’s absolutely a national emergency,” Morgan said during the interview. “What we are talking about right now is part of the continued catch and release. It’s a little bit different than before.”
He explained that previously anyone caught by border patrol agents would be turned over to ICE, who then releases them according to immigration policies. But now this does not happen because of overcrowding at border patrol and ICE detention facilities.
“Now, border patrol agents are having to release illegal aliens into the interior of the United States. They’re overwhelmed,” Morgan said, adding that after the illegal aliens are released “you never hear from them again.”
This week, border patrol released 250 migrants and are expected to release hundreds more because of an influx of Central American families causing overcrowding in immigration facilities, reported Los Angeles Times.
Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen warned lawmakers earlier this month that “illegal immigration is simply spiraling out of control and threatening public safety and national security.” more here

Tens of thousands more on the way who will also be released. Who’s the geniuses letting this happen? It’s just as easy to put them on a bus for mexico as it is for Phoenix!
Why did we let this reach the point of being a crisis?
Couldn’t it have been addressed earlier when it started becoming a problem to head the crisis off when it would have been easy?
All big problems are the end result of small ones that were ignored because they were small and no one thought it was worth the effort to fix them at the time.

Trump needs to step up prosecution & fines for businesses who hire illegals. Not having an income source will solve the problem with most of them, they will self-deport.
I know some of that is happening but it needs to be more high-profile so businesses take note.
There is no “emergency”. The government is implementing what the government wants. If that is genocide (ethnic cleansing, mass migration, whatever the United Nations calls extermination by some other name, so it’s not a crime against humanity, a war crime, a cause for regime change, whatever — today, this day), it is not an emergency for the government succeeding at it. If loyal citizens support the government’s genocide, it is not an emergency for the citizens supporting it. If loyal citizens would rather straighten their hair and die with dignity, it is not an emergency for those killed.
Nor is the extermination of those that call you enemy, and seek to harm you, an emergency. Not when they’ve announced their intent long and loud. Not when they’ve implemented their attack long and hard. Nor, even when you insist, “Not yet. Wait for it.” It has other names — when you exterminate the government that seeks your extermination. “Emergency” has never been one of them.
