The Pentagon has been planning for weeks to deploy military troops in Chicago, as part of President Trump’s plan to crack down on crime, homelessness, and undocumented immigration, similar to his approach in Washington, D.C., the Washington Post reported on Saturday.
According to the Washington Post, the Pentagon’s plans include mobilizing at least a few thousand National Guard troops as early as September, and officials have also discussed the use of active-duty troops.
In a statement Saturday night, Gov. JB Pritzker said, “The State of Illinois at this time has received no requests or outreach from the federal government asking if we need assistance, and we have made no requests for federal intervention.” More

I’ve kinda been doing a semi-deep dive into the South and Central American cartels. Although we usually think of them as “drug cartels”, they are deep into just about every sort of criminal racketeering enterprise there is. They make the Mafia of old look like amateurs, and their scope is global. Everything from luxury cosmetics theft to murder-for-hire and everything in between. They are completely embedded in the U.S., and have been for decades. They’re like a disease as its apex, in which by the time the average person is aware of them, they have metastisized (sp).
I do wish 47’s gov’t would start some sort of program like “Ted Talks”, for example, which would educate citizens of the roots and scope of the “gang” problem. I think it would go far in bringing everyone up-to-speed and aware of why this administration is taking the actions they are in cities like Chicago, L.A., Portland, etc.
