Non Expanding Recreational Foam, it never occurred to me that NERF was an acronym for something. Being a Minnesota kid I remember Fred Cox. He probably made more from his “invention” than he did playing football.
Thank you Mr. Cox, for all those memories on the pavement in Bronx and at Jones Beach in LI.

Never knew about the NERF ball connection, but Fred was also a chiropractor. I drove by his office many times. This was a time when even star athletes needed to have an offseason job.
