Free Booze Program

Breitbart

Homeless alcoholics are getting free beer and vodka under a taxpayer-funded pilot program in San Francisco as city leadership grapples with the homelessness crisis plaguing its streets.

The city’s Department of Public Health runs the Managed Alcohol Program (MAP) to give doses of alcohol to the addicted, Fox News reported on Saturday.

Officials hope the program will “keep the homeless off the streets” and decrease incidents in which emergency services have to step in.

“Experts say the program can save or extend lives, but critics wonder if the government would be better off funding treatment and sobriety programs instead,” Fox noted. More

    Big whoop.

I’ve been getting free alcohol from San Francisco taxpayers a LOT longer than THAT. In (hic) fact, right now I…

  3. @Dr. Tar — I really like that 12-step program idea!

“Hi, I’m San Francisco, and I’m a Democrat Dystopia.”

“I’m a totalitarian taxoholic with a gun” is maybe more apt, but awkward.

  4. Why waste money on giving them firearms and ammunition that the Cartels can take from them for a couple of Crack Rocks? Just give them some Chinese Switchblades they can poke holes in each other with.

  5. What a way to attract alkys to the city.

SF Mayor: Don’t be judgmental on us now. It’s a way to get our homeless folks off drugs. Once we’ve got them off drugs, we will use drugs to get them off alcohol.

  7. Ask Portland Oregon how encouraging drugs worked out. It was overrun with out of their heads druggies.
Well, they do tend to self eliminate but not before creating misery for a lot of people.

  8. Enabling bad behavior is not compassion.

So, if you really want to support their lifestyle/cultural values great! Addiction ends in death or rock bottom realization that YOU are the problem and YOU have to WORK your way out. Round ’em up and give them the choice right then and there. Then terminate all enabling programs including the 501c3 ones.
