Freedom In the 50 States

An Index of Personal and Economic Freedom

The Cato Institute rates each of the 50 states according to several issues including fiscal, regulatory, economic, land, etc. The link will take you to the main page for the 2021 ranking. There is a map with each state linking to the specific ranking data. Click on your state for that information, or scroll down to download the PDF file with all the 50 states listed with their ranking and data used to create the overall rank they received.

I was surprised with some of the states in the top ten and which states weren’t in the top ten.

Below is an image to show the overall ranks of each state:

  1. Proud and pleasantly surprised to see Michigan at 7. I will say the amount of local police we have in Michigan is absurd. You can’t really go 5 miles without seeing some form of law enforcement when the reality is the only places you need law enforcement in Michigan is Detroit, Pontiac, Flint, and Saginaw aka the hyper black areas.

  2. Idaho will soon go to Oregon’s ranking. Hmm, it seems Wyoming and Montana changed their names to each respective other names… curious.

Yeah, didn’t you know that they changed places last night? Would you believe… Oh, crap. Never mind. I goofed. Fixed it … 😳🤪 – Claudia

  3. Scott, He is up and running and I am a co-host there. It is Bustednuckles.com as the primary and Vulgar Curmudgeon.com as the back up and some posting. The Coldfury Bustednuckles is permanently broken.

  4. You’d think that with Chinese flu detention camps yaknow ACTUALLY being built and WA advertising for “strike force” employees to snatch people off the streets we could do better than 39!

C’mon Jay, get with the program.

  5. It’s interesting, us bringing up the REAR at 50.

    Good GRIEF.

    But you know what?

Tell that to the people that live year round in the Central Adirondacks.

It was minus 10 degrees there the other night. They don’t give a rats ass about the gubmint and are not worried anyone will be coming for their guns anytime soon.

And yes the asshoes in Albany will always be asshoes in Albany.

    > As a resident of New Hampshire, I am both pleased and mystified.

The Cato Institute — it’s like being named “Daddy of the Year” by NAMBLA.
