“Funflation”

Breitbart

Bidenomics is ruining the affordable cost of fun in America.

Nearly 60 percent of Americans are cutting back on spending on live entertainment — including amusement parks, rock concerts, and the performing arts — as prices continue to soar through the roof, according to a new survey of 1,000 individuals conducted by the Wall Street Journal and Credit Karma.

Many Americans are being forced to eliminate fun from their budgets altogether. More

  1. Taylor Swift visited the Bay Area last month. I read that the cheapest ticket was $3200, pity the poor dad that has teenage girls.

And it looks like people are not slowing down on consumer spending, just charging everything; The total U.S. consumer credit card debt has risen to an all-time high of $1.03 trillion in Q2 2023.

This is why most people don’t give a shit about the national debt. ($33 trillion) ,”Screw it, I’m getting mine, the future can take care of itself”.

  2. Think back. Obama did the same thing. Destroyed discretionary spending putting almost every boat and travel trailer manufacturer out of business. He almost got Harley Davidson. And then tell you strait faced, supply side doesn’t work, we’ve proven it.” Really? When and where did you prove it and to whom? Lying sacks of shit.

  3. Rich Taylor,

I sometimes feel guilty that I spent quite a bit of money on my Home Audio surround sound shit & Concert Discs (Blu ray & DVD) , but NOW when I see the price of going to a concert or Movie PLUS Popcorn, Beer & other Crap it looks like i was not that much of an Idiot after all.

It took about 10-ish years to get it right from 2004 to 2014 but I have not spent more than $100 / year since then since modern MOVIES & MUSIC SUCK ASS.

  4. Brad,

As I sit here wearing a Harley Tee, I keep thinking that Harley did it to themselves. I just Don’t like the new CRAP & the Missing Dyna’s.

Cheers, I’m Mountain biking Now and am SEVERELY ADDICTED.

  5. Remember when fun was still inexpensive and cheap? Doesn’t any know how to entertain themselves anymore. Or have they left that all to Hollyweird and TV and outrageously overpriced concerts etc. I don’t consider it fun to be ripped off for thousands of dollars to go to any theme park anywhere. Hell, even Silverwood in N. Idaho has become prohibitively expensive for most families any more especially if you have more than 2 kids or grandkids. The only time I ever went to Disneyland was on Thanksgiving weekend in 1972 and it cost $20 for all of us who had just graduated from Navy bootcamp in San Diego.

The honest truth is that there are no superior teams in the NFL; The Bills, the Eagles, 49er’s, on any given day they all can suck ass.

As for splurging, I’m all for it, just don’t run a balance on your credit cards, pay them off each month.

  7. Remember when you could by an LP record album for $3.33 and a double album for maybe five or six bucks at the local discount drug store like Pay & Save. And Mad Magazines were still a quarter or .25 cents cheap and comic books for .10 cents until they went up to .12 cents and a quarter for an annual issue. Movies cost us a quarter for a double feature on Sat. afternoons at the Lee Theater in downtown Ephrata, Wash. in the early 60’s and .35 cents for Disney movies and .50 cents for real long movies like The Longest Day or The Great Escape etc.
