WT: Florida Rep. Alan Grayson used the aftermath of Sunday’s Islamic terror attack to claim AR-15 semi-automatic rifles can fire 700 rounds per minute.

Security guard Omar Mateen killed 49 people and wounded over 50 others during an attack on a gay nightclub — the worst mass shooting in U.S. history. Mr. Grayson, a Democrat, was asked about the massacre and soon turned his attention to the AR-15 rifle.

“If [Mr. Mateen] was not able to buy a weapon that shoots off 700 rounds in a minute, a lot of those people would still be alive,” the congressman said. MORE

    In the movies, and this asshole’s ‘mass of tissue’ that he tries to reason with, but he’s going to get a lip cramp trying to say ‘Pew-pew-pew’ that fast.

  4. What’s more disturbing is he cites three or four people as if that’s acceptable. A glock fires the same speed as an AR-15, one pull, one shot.

    Mr Close then demonstrates the math, showing how un-possible it is to accomplish firing 700 rounds per minute through a standard semi-automatic (one trigger pull = one boolit fired) AR15.

    Really, a sucker bet, nothing else but. It can never be accomplished. And Mr Grayson will never take him up on it, so Mr Close’s money is safe in the bank.

    This story needs to be spread far and wide, especially within Mr Grayson’s district, so he can be mocked and laughed at.

  10. He is partly correct if you have $15k+ to spend on an auto sear and related licensing.

    M16 specs:

    12–15 rounds/min sustained
    45–60 rounds/min semi-automatic
    700–950 rounds/min cyclic

    However, I recently shot a friend’s AR with slide-fire and it will dump a 30rd magazine fairly quickly. No sear needed, ATF approved and not very reliable.

  16. Fucktard Grayson lies every time he opens his mouth. The weapon used by the Filthy Moslem Savage was a Sig Sauer CMX. None of it’s parts are interchangeable with an AR-15.

    FWIW – I’ve never used the GAT but have bump fired. The Slide-Fire appears to shoot faster than the GAT. Sounds pretty much like full auto.
