Gene Simmons’ “Promised Land” – IOTW Report

Gene Simmons’ “Promised Land”

Gene Simmons, one of the founding members of the mega group KISS, visited the White House and Pentagon yesterday. The legendary rocker gave a few words of thanks to the country in a very moving address to military personnel at the Pentagon, video in the post. Here

  1. I’m with you Wet Eyed Crackerbaby for the wiping of tears. But overall, I was impressed that a man of Gene Simmons’ ego (necessary for his level of business success) seemed truly humble and grateful for the US-f- A.

  2. I’ll jump in here before some skeptics start citing Simmon’s stage act as being the actual person. Stage acts like KISS, Alice Cooper and the like are PERFORMERS who tapped into an altogether different mode of rock and made some money (and still do). But they are quite normal people when not “on”.

To look at this any other way, it would then be neccessary to blacklist any actor who played an evil being and label the actor “a bad person” in public life. (Although most of them are anyway.)

  3. He, and the band when performing, like to play the Star Spangled Banner while bringing attention to military personnel. Lots of videos of them doing that on you tube. The guy loves his country.

  4. A regular guy with an appreciation for the REAL blessings bestowed – how many of the current crop of immigrants would display such gratitude?
More like gimme, gimme, gimme from them.

  5. I’d heard of Kiss and a couple of their songs, and would have known that Gene Simmons is from that band, but I didn’t know about them playing our beautiful anthem ay concerts and the love they showed for our nation. I am always so grateful for people like this.

  6. A reverse phenomenon for me.

Didn’t like the act. Was an eye roller for me when my friend was excited to go to their concert. ‘Really? Huh.’

Loved Gene the person once I knew him better.
