Geomagnetic Storm Takes Out 40 of SpaceX’s Starlink Satellites

Techcrunch

lmost all of the Starlink internet satellites that a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket carried beyond the atmosphere on February 3rd won’t reach their intended orbit. SpaceX has revealed that a geomagnetic storm that took place a day after the liftoff had a severe impact on the satellites, and up to 40 of them will re-enter or have already entered Earth’s atmosphere. United States Geological Survey describes geomagnetic storms as periods of “rapid magnetic field variation” typically caused by a strong surge of solar winds.

  1. Something about this doesn’t smell right…
40 satellites a day after launching them?
Satellites survive solar storms all the time. Either they weren’t designed right or weren’t turned off, or were attacked.

  2. The storm produced a 50% increase in atmospheric drag in a 130 mile orbit? So, maybe their window went from weeks to days – but they couldn’t perform final maneuvers in time to insert them into their final orbits?

    Sounds like incompetence.

  3. I watch a guy on youtube: suspeciousobservers. I have never read the papers he sites in his videos, but; the earth’s magnetic field has been declining since 1850 and is dropping very steeply over the last few years. Basically the magnetic shield is weakened enough to let a lot more high energy particles from the sun penetrate deeper into the atmosphere. His take on these basically got spiked even though they were low orbit.

Caution: If you check out his channel be aware it is a very gloomy outlook climate wise and it has zero to do with humans.

  4. Much more powerful than RADIOMAN’S
    RF amplifiers…..
The amount of radio frequency energy from 300KHZ
to 300GHZ and X-Ray Gamma Ray Alpha Ray Beta Ray ETC.
that is radiated into space in all directions is unimaginable.Get anywhere near the sun in a space craft and you would be cooked and burned into vapor and spewed out across the vast emptiness of space.
