Some of the immediate casualties of the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis were television shows that did not portray police officers as serial killers. Even thoroughly woke police dramas like Law and Order: SVU, which basically was a serialization of Lifetime movies, were canceled rather than offend the outrage mob. Among the collateral damage were the long-running reality shows Cops and Live PD. Spoiler Alert for any SVU episode you didn’t watch: the man did it. If the man is a father who takes his kids to church or is a priest or pastor, then he is definitely a pedophile. The gay or lesbian is the hero. Trust me.

While NBC had plenty of politically-correct gender-questioning variable-pronoun dross to drop into the gap left by SVU, A&E network, which aired Live PD, didn’t have that deep of a schedule. MORE

  4. The funny thing is that “Live PD” was an honest view of the cops in realtime so I have to wonder why they would drop that. Maybe it was because the cops weren’t the brutish, racist black killing monsters that BLM and the Lib/Prog gang would have you believe. What is also a mystery to me is why they canned that show but still (for now anyway) keep the “First 48” on the air. They show homicide cops of all colors working hard and never giving up to find murderers regardless of social or criminal status of the victims. Again, good, honest and sympathetic cops doing a damn dirty job. Also surprising is almost all (I’d say 90%) of the perpetrators and victims are black for all the different cities they film from. I would think that that alone would warrant cancellation in this brave new world of ours. Anyway, Walt Disney is spinning at about 10,000 RPM right about now seeing what his company has become.

    My understanding about Cops is that it was headed toward the trashcan last year due to failing ratings and really not having a home.

  7. All of these woke companies and keep our customers safe by forcing them to wear mask companies are going to hurt their pocket books.

    WalMart who everyone says is too big to fall, well nobody is too big to fall. They announced out of the blue they were shutting down a store in a small town in another county. The town has two stores, WalMart and Homeland. That got me curious when I heard about it so I drove by 3 different stores in 3 different towns, all of which are usually packed and you have to park in the north 40. All three just 2 weeks ago had not seen a drop in business, after their mask mandate, parking lots were less than half full. Dollar General who has helped their business by building in rural areas, after they put their masks required signs on doors look like ghost towns.
    Obviously the CEOs in their big offices never venture out into small town America or rural America or they would have known only maybe 3% of the people wear masks.

    I’m rooting for WalMart to fail.

Funny thing about Law and Order:SVU — if you know the cases upon which an episode is based you know that Usually the priest, Christian, or whoever is portrayed as the bad guy on the show was the good guy in the real case, and the whatever that was portrayed as the good guy on the show was the bad guy in the real case.

  11. I have noticed Fox’s leftward tilt recently. Yesterday, it had an article about Rep. Yoho. Inside the article was a sub-article with a headline, something like: Yoho’s sexist comments overheard. I opened it up and there was absolutely nothing about anyone overhearing Yoho’s comments. Nothing.

    I more and more go to OAN.

  13. A & E’s probably done more to promote sexual deviancy than MTV!
    Someone brought up the fact that ther are Hispanic channels, black channels, etc. but no homo channels. Dennis miller said what about Bravo and A & E?
