  1. My Golden was always trying to save swimmers who were just swimming. Despite my best efforts he never gave up. He also has issues with a plank decked bridge and he would start barking at anyone who ventured out on the boards, he wouldn’t go across himself, but felt no one should go. I miss him, he rode in the car everywhere I went. I hope to meet up with him in the great beyond someday, he will know me despite the wrinkles.

We had two Labs, just had to put one down. Previous to that if one of our grand kids were in the pool they were braced by two Labs making sure they were alright. Best damn dog we’ve ever owned. But we’ve owned a lot of good ones. Including two Chessies. I wouldn’t own a dog if it wasn’t a retriever. My father in law had a thing for Golden’s and owned a couple really good ones.
