This guy entered a Walgreens in Arlington, Texas and shot his girlfriend and then tried to flee.
An ex-Marine
followed him out into the parking lot and, brandishing his own gun, tried to stop him from getting away. The shooter turned and shot him in the head, killing him.

The shooter has since turned himself in to the police. His wife has not been identified by police.
She has been treated for non-life threatening injuries in hospital.
Arlington Police Lt. Chris Cook praised the ex-marineĀ for his actions and described him as a Good Samaritan.
He told Fox 4: ‘Very terrifying for people that had to watch and see, especially the Good Samaritan being shot and killed just trying to help out trying to keep the suspect from leaving.’

RIP. He died trying to do the right thing, and not just be an apathetic bystander.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
Sounds like he should have done less brandishing and more sight alignment on the bad guy.
Bloomberg will love this story.
His heart was in the right place, but in his head he had not thought it through. Do not draw your firearm unless you are prepared to shoot. That doesn’t mean you have to shoot, but hesitation at that point can kill you, as it did this man. Too bad.
This is a good lesson as to why brandishing a weapon is a bad thing. CCW doesn’t equal cop, only cops can run around brandishing weapons.
Reminds me of a line from one of those Clint Eastwood spaghetti westerns:
“If you’re going to shoot, don’t talk”

My guess is he pulled the trigger but had the safety on.
Law enforcement and military always say that if you pull a gun on somebody you better be willing to pull the trigger. God bless this guy and his family. He had the courage to stand up to an evil person. More than can be said for most of us.
