Noted Republican donor Peter Thiel reportedly claimed he would support Arizona Republican Blake Masters for Senate if the Republican leadership PAC agreed to match his contribution. Axios reports Thiel informed the Senate Leadership Fund, which supports Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, that he would make a substantial investment if the Senate Leadership Fund made an equal commitment.
Despite showing interest in the agreement, the Senate Leadership Fund has not yet raised the necessary funds. The deal would allocate $10 million for advertising during the crucial last three weeks of the race, which would be divided between Thiel and the Senate Leadership Fund. more
