Opening another fissure with members of his own party, Gov. Jerry Brown has come down on the opposite side of a proposed statewide increase in the minimum wage.
Changing course
In an indication of the mood in the governor’s office, Brown’s number-crunchers came down hard on the proposed hike. Kristin Shelton, the state’s budget program manager, said the Department of Finance opposed the bill “because it results in significant, unbudgeted costs to the General Fund,” according to Bloomberg Politics.
The unions will have his tree hugging butt for this! I believe most union wage hikes are tied to minimum wage. . . minimum wage goes up, union wages go up.
Of all the shit going on there…THIS is what he gets upset over?
As much as I despise the man, he sees the jobs losses in San Francisco, and future job losses in the future if a minimum wage is passed. We’re already an unfriendly business State, a minimum wage would nail the coffin shut.
I think union dues goes up, more taxes are paid, and the worker is worse off than they were before the minimum wage hike. In San Francisco, the workers are squealing that they want their hours reduced so they can still qualify for their subsidies for housing and food stamps.
In plain non-bullshit, non-‘tardtalk, unemployment will be rampant and tax revenue will go DOWN.
What part of that don’t you ‘tards get? The General Secretary of The People’s Socialist Quagmire of California gets it.
Morons.
