Guess the Reader – IOTW Report

Guess the Reader

Our last reader was … Googie!

Our next reader is… I have no idea. They have identified themselves as Galaxian and they’ve provided a picture (that they wouldn’t email) which has, I presume, clues as to their identity.

I’m assuming the person is the guy in the circle. And they insisted that they be the 52nd iteration of this feature.

Good Luck!

I hope they explain what is going on in the comments.

  1. Man in/on the moon, wearing either Union soldier or train conductor uniform

    Flooded old farm house

    Pain (twice)

    Farm kid sowing (pop)corn

    Farm kid harvesting potato (chips)

    Popcorn tree?

    Bucket/pail of Triscuit crackers
    …in a shopping cart

Farm kid with misshapen sickle drinking or blowing a gourd horn

Girl (?) by bags of maybe potatoes holding maybe potatoes and by table with loaves of bread or very large pickles standing on end.

How can it be that I have so many clues and yet don’t have a clue?

  2. I only checked this to see which misguided and alcoholic member of team IOTW would pick me.

Well it’s not me. First off,I have mad photoshop skillz. Second, everyone knows my policy of shooting on sight any and all stunted Irish child laborers. Third….I ain’t even know what the hell is going on in that pic.

But I’ll tell you what. I will send in a photo. It must be the 53rd iteration of this feature. Not for any obscure reason, but because the letter E is the fifth letter of the alphabet and C is the third. Hence, 53 or E.C. which as we all know, stands for Evil Conservatives. My old website.

  3. Major Malfunction? … shopping for the final product from iOTW in a bucket full of pain?

52 = the direct dialing code for Mexico? the # of white keys on a piano?
… are we thinking too much here?

    .. it’s Burr … don’t care how much he denies it …. 😉

  4. I believe the small photo you mention is a picture of Alfred Dreyfus, a French officer and the principal figure in the Dreyfus Affair, a political scandal starting in 1894 and lasting until 1906.

  5. HELLFIRE AND SANDY APPLEASAUCE I WILL FIND YOU AND SQUEEZE LEMON JUICE IN YOUR EYES.

It’s not me. How anyone could think that was me is beyond reason. I’ve already said I’ll send in a pic. An actual pic and not some Zodiac killer style postcard.

    You people seriously disappoint me.

  6. It is pretty obvious to me that it is ol’ Crackerpaincart……

OH! and Googie was one cute kid.

  7. THAT PICTURE IS PROOF THAT THE ZODIAC KILLER READS THIS WEBSITE.

By the blue balls of Lord Buddah, am I the only one creeped out by that vaguely sinister looking pic?

  8. I have an idea, but haven’t seen him around here for eons, so I hesitate to say. Photoshop person, soldier, history buff, baker, but the motercycle isn’ in the mix.

This is a really good one to try to guess.

  9. Almost everything in the picture seems bread(or snack food)-related.

“Pain” is French for bread. “Patisserie” is a French bakery. The uniform in the picture
looks French, maybe old military or gendarme. Is there an IOTWR reader named “Frenchy”
    or something like that?

    That’s all I got.

  10. I got this….he’s a very crafty fellow who used the photoshop capabilities of one of the best, hence the earlier clues.
    It’s …….VIETVET!!!!….

    4
  11. @Vietvet – It looks like an acorn squash, especially in the higher res image the clue-giver linked to earlier. “Pepo” is the general term for hard-shell berries, and, believe it or not, include squash and IIRC cucumbers and pumpkins. And it does look like he’s drinking, not blowing as I originally thought.

  12. Its good ole number 52. I remember seeing his comment. When back and looked for it but it was gone, might not have gone back far enough. What number are we on now?
    He was number 48

  13. I can cobble together a few bread-related terms from the pictures – corn bread (from the popcorn), potato bread (from the chips), French bread from the “pain”, and breadbasket (from the shopping cart), but they don’t seem relevant. There’s something with color ‘shopped into one of the baskets in the last picture, but you can’t really tell what it is. Another breadbasket?

I can only conclude that it’s Fur’s way of telling us that it takes a lot of pain, effort, and bread to produce IOTWReport.

    😉

  14. The four corner images are all of the same individual. Same clothes, including wooden shoes (sabots?), but differing headgear. The four are in a logical sequence: sowing seeds (popcorn), reaping (looks like wheat), harvesting (looks like a sack of potatoes, plus those chips), and then the harvest turned into bread. That odd colored thing in the basket looks to me like a burnt popcorn kernel.

Then there’s the winking Dreyfus, and the breadbasket. And the clues in the comments.

With all this I can’t come up with anything I haven’t already come up with. My problem, I think, is insufficient alcohol consumption.

So, given his history and current vehement and abusive denial (I say that with a grin), I think it just might be ol’ 52 hisself, Aaron Burr.

  15. VietVet is right about bread. More on that layer later.
But the Author is knot fur, mja, irony, abagailadams, zonga, zilla, thirdtwin, nor any saltine, cracker, crisp, chip or kernel.

    3
  16. And Reader 52 is… Brüder Grimm
Fairy Tales, Furry Tails, Popcorn Tree of Life.
since it appears the xxxx is not part of the official record.

  17. Check this DuckDuckGo query. Two hits, and the second one is erroneous.

@Brüder Grimm – You did give us a nice time trying to figure out your name. I enjoyed myself. My enjoyment was lessened slightly when I found that you appear to have made only one comment here and that was in June of 2017. Anyway, thanks for the entertainment.

  18. AMA Brüder Grimm

A lib. Will never face you head on. Always the pussy. Never heard of you pal. When you settle down and want to go face to face let me know. Otherwise, fuck off.

  19. I would never have guessed the Brothers Grimm, much less 52 of them.
And someone still needs to explain the bread connection to me.
It’s the yeast they can do.
