7. I think the quickest way to force a solution would be for honest Americans to follow suit. They can ‘liberate’ items that they can donate to a good cause if they wish – but it would force the stores’ hands.
   Going shopping for Vets today – does CA Costco have that policy too???

9. I’m surprised that some enterprising punk hasn’t simply opened up the cash register and walked out with cash. Apparently, if it’s under $1000, it’s not a crime, it’s allowable shoplifting. If they did arrest you then a court appointed lawyer could get you off based on their own store and city policy.

11. If I was intent on staying there as a store, I would implement stock controls measures.

    No product is available to touch personally until it’s paid for and brought to you.

    Everyone can shop a menu and pay for it first. Provide live cameras for fresh produce and other must-see products.

    You want to play hardball with my store? Then hard ball it is. Thieves make everyone around them pay more for their stuff. The losses have to made up and high losses mean drastic changes. Shutting the store down and/or moving it is the simplest.

    I think making them pay first allows locals to still have a store in the neighborhood.

12. You don’t have to arrest them. Just bash their empty heads in with a 2×4 and toss ’em in the nearest dumpster. No cops, no worries. 100% effective on repeat offenders, too!
