WT–Growing up, I watched a lot of Westerns. In addition to the cowboy hero, the town sheriff was almost always a model of integrity. He stood for law and order against bank robbers, cattle rustlers and horse thieves all trying to disrupt the peace.
A contemporary and real-life version of those fictional characters is Sheriff David Clarke of Milwaukee County, Wis.
Sheriff Clarke has been trying to restore law and order after several nights of rioting following the shooting death of 23-year-old Sylville Smith by a Milwaukee police officer. Mr. Smith had a lengthy criminal record, longer than some people’s resumes. He should have been in prison. MORE
One thing that people should realize is that, in almost all cases, the county sheriff is the ONLY elected law enforcement officer in the land. And in most cases, he is the ONLY only one who can be counted on to do the right thing.
Sheriff Clarke is a good man who can speak the truth without being labeled racist.

Wanna bet?
He’s already an Uncle Tom to the left.
We’ve put all law enforcement into the position that they must revolt against the system.
Why? Because the Chief Executive of the country, and his appointed AGs, et al, are CRIMINALS and have shown contempt and disregard for Law.
The Legislative and Judicial Branches are complicit in all this lawlessness because they FAIL to do their jobs.
I believe that Mr. Clarke is absolutely correct. But me saying these things means little to nothing to the black inner city communities. Coming from a black man who holds an important position, and who lives and works in this city – well, that should mean a lot to those citizens.
But progressives will throw him off the plantation – only because they cannot feed him to the dogs like in Django Unchained. Why the inner city black community choses to listen to wealthy white bubble heads who live in gated communities and have nothing to do with inner cities instead of a black sheriff who actually works there is beyond me.

Sheriff Clarke is a good honorable man. A rare quality in people these days.
Wasn’t it LBJ who observed to one of his former Senate colleagues after he signed some facet of his Great Society farce that he’d just signed a law that would have the n&g#@rs voting Democrat for the next 200 years?
