The Hill-
The president of the United Mine Workers of America characterized the progressive Green New Deal’s goal of transitioning to renewable energy over 10 years as “almost impossible.”
The Green New Deal, introduced by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) and Sen. Ed Markey (D-Mass.) earlier this year, aims to cut greenhouse emissions in half by shifting to 100 percent renewable energy over the next decade. The proposal also calls for creating millions of “good, high-wage” jobs to achieve that goal.
“It’s almost impossible to transition in 10 years away from fossil fuels even if everybody was for it,” Cecil Roberts told Hill.TV on Monday. “It just can’t really be done but if you did do that, you’re going to have a massive, terrible economic problem on your hands.” more
If we completed the mission 100% in 10 years, 50 years later it would be called fake, staged, and impossible as it was pulled off with fake lighting, shadows, and other trickery in a studio.
Delivering the moon is a tiny bit harder than going to the moon.
Transition to renewable power? No problem! Why wait ten years. The planet needs to be saved now. Thursday at noon shut down all coal and natural gas plants. Presto! We’ll have transitioned to renewables. It’s worth saving the planet just so we don’t have to listen Al Bore anymore.
Almost impossible? You mean there is a chance that it can work?
The GND is not about energy. It is about deconstructing Western society.
