Baltimore Mayor Catherine Pugh once wrote a children’s book, “Healthy Holly: Exercise Is Fun.”
Pugh sold the self-published book to the University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS) for $500,000 and to insurer Kaiser Permanente for another $100,000 (KP has been the healthcare insurer for Maryland).
Interestingly enough, at the same time Pugh was cashing checks on her book she was also serving UMMS’s board. She was also a state senator at the time sitting on the Senate Finance Committee, which has oversight over financial institutions, like insurance companies.
Mayor Pugh announced she was taking an “indefinite leave” to get over a battle with “pneumonia.” More

I’ve read that is is questioned if all the books were even printed and distributed. Several thousand have been found in a warehouse, but few have been found in circulation. The whole thing appears to be fraudulent. No wonder she has ‘pneumonia.’
