Helen Keller Photography Work Sold at Auction

helen keller with book

Middle Finger News Service – Of all the accomplishments of Helen Keller, the least known was her love of photography. Recently a small collection of work was auctioned off at an amazing price to an anonymous bidder. Included in the collection was one of the first known selfies, taken in 1923, and given to her teacher and mentor Anne Sullivan with a note written on back, “My hair must be a mess, such a windy day.”

  1. they just didn’t have the heart to tell her she left the lens cap on again
(I’m going to Hell for that, aren’t I?)

what it must have been like….. imagine living in her personal Hell of such silence, such darkness, such stunted interaction, such a miserable, frightened existence … as we sit here & whine about our petty troubles …. she had such a wonderful, living spirit that is lost on us….we who experience all the wonder of daily life, never bothering to recognize, let alone acknowledge such a gift God has created for us

    sorry …. rambling …. again
