Hollywood to Ban Live Ammunition from Movie Sets

Breitbart

In a major change to the way Hollywood movies and TV series are made, live ammunition will be banned from production sets under a new agreement reached by the Directors Guild of America and studios.

The new tentative contract, which was announced over the weekend, includes provisions for increased compensation for directors as well as a promise that studios won’t use artificial intelligence technology to replace directors. Juneteenth will also become a paid holiday for guild members.

Among the new safety measures is β€œthe ban of live ammunition on set.” The guild didn’t elaborate on a timeline or provide further details. But it appears that real fire arms will continue to be allowed. More

  1. ^^^^^ LOL. I’m pretty damn sure it was. I’m an old Western Freak. Probably cause there ain’t jack shit on the tube these days. The muzzle discipline in these old movies is awesome really. And common sense back then. Today, not so much and as it turns out, it’s the damn gun fault.

  2. News flash:
Live ammunition has been banned from production sets for decades, unless you’re a second unit (not the main production set) shooting on an actual firing range, or a naval ship at sea in international waters.
“Blanks and dummies only” has been the iron-clad rule going back half a century.

And those rules don’t work in the first place if you hire inexperienced and maliciously incompetent Prop Tarts who neither read nor follow them; that’s how you get people killed.

This rule didn’t and never will save people like Halyna Hutchins, if the prop master, weapons handler(s), and their assistants, are all incompetent effing morons who couldn’t hold down a job as a barrista at Starbuck’s.

  3. That’ll make movie sets a lot more dangerous. They’ll become just like the entire city of Chicago. Only bad actors will have live ammunition. The few good actors around will have only blanks. Can’t fight back with blanks. They should have live ammo too.

As John Lott correctly stated: More Live Ammo, Less Movie Set Crime.

(This is parody – John Lott is right)
