Honda Yanks Production Of One Of Its Top Cars From Mexico After Tariffs

Daily Wire: Honda has reportedly decided to produce its next generation Civic hybrid in Indiana rather than Mexico to avoid the brunt of tariffs the United States is expected to put in place this week.

Honda’s decision regarding one of its top selling models would be the first by a Japanese car company to reorient its supply chains around the potential tariffs, according to Reuters. Mexico was previously seen as a lower cost location for car-making to avoid higher labor costs in Canada and the United States, but Honda executives turned toward Indiana after President Donald Trump threatened to levy 25% tariffs against Mexico.

New tariffs are expected to go into effect from the United States on Canada and Mexico on Tuesday. While Trump has threatened a maximum tariff of up to 25%, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick said on Sunday that the level of tariffs to go into place Tuesday will be decided by the president. more

  1. AND THIS IS WHY TARIFFS WORK!!!!!

I get a real hoot out of all these so called experts screaming, it’s another tax on the American consumer. Bull shit. It brings manufacturing back on shore. These so called experts have never done jack shit in the real world. They should learn to code.

  2. Now if we can get the manufacturers to remove all this Star War crap off at least some models and just give us something with a good motor, transmission, heater and a radio that people who don’t want to pay a second mortgage to get from A to B can afford.
Leave that high dollar stuff to people who desire it.
That’s the way it used to be.
My grandpa bought basic models, usually with straight sizes, manual brakes, steering and radio delete plates in the dash.

  3. I usually can’t stand Levin however a couple weeks ago he did a show on past presidents that had used tariffs like a weapon. You never hear about it, but Reagan was huge on Tariffs. So was Eisenhower. They both had great results from them. Fascinating episode
