House Version of America COMPETES Act Has MINKS Amendment

Wisconsin State Farmer

Included in the House version of H.R. 4521, the America COMPETES Act of 2022, was a provision called the “MINKS” Amendment, which amends the Lacey Act to prohibit the purchase, sale, or transportation of farmed minks. Due to the differences between the House and the Senate version of the America COMPETES Act, a House-Senate Conference Committee has now been formed to iron out differences between versions of a bill passed by each chamber. 1. So… the chinks want to protect their mink production from US mink farms?

Am I reading this correctly? Seems to me there would be plenty of chinks who eat minks and make coats out of them.

  2. My minks are GMO free, and gluten free, and free-range. It’s hell to catch them, but I use Burr’s slave labor to catch them and strangle them.

  3. Ya know Erik I;m a California boy born and raised, But we did spent two years back in Wisconsin. Job assignment for dad. Anyway he ran over a Mink back there once. Stuffed the brakes and backed up, through suicidal mink in the back seat floor boards. Me and my younger bro in the back seats. Dad had visions of that pelt. Problem was Mr Mink was far from dead. Just stunned. Fucking thing chased me and my brother all over the back of that car. Dad stuffs the brakes again, opens the door and Mr. Mink was gone. My one and only story about Minks.

  4. I couldn’t identify a mink in a lineup. As far as I know they are kinda big ferrets with a rather nasty disposition. My wife has had ferrets that were mean as shit, too.

  5. Just another attempt at destroying American small business. Like they’re doing to the lobster industry.
    Crushing the middle class.
They’re operating furiously in the states.
Here in Maine they’re trying a state takeover of local zoning and laws requiring welfare housing in every community.

    Crushing the middle class.
That’s what things like the minks amendment move toward.

  6. I saw a mink running through my property just the other day. Never saw one before.
Brad – I’ll try trapping it. If I catch it I’ll send it to you so you can re-live one of your childhood experiences.
