KEIB: Climate activist Greta Thunberg was detained by police in Germany during a climate change protest. Over the weekend, Thunberg joined thousands of protesters and climate activists who oppose the demolition of the village of Luetzerath to expand the Garzweiler 2 coal mine.
“Greta Thunberg was part of a group of activists who rushed towards the ledge. However, she was then stopped and carried by us with this group out of the immediate danger area to establish their identity,” a spokesperson for Aachen police told Reuters. more here

The only time I ever had to carry someone like that, I dropped them on their head, repeatedly, Yeah, I’m a bit clumsy.

This started off as child abuse. It looks like she’s twenty now, so certainly not a child, chronologically. Mentally I don’t think she’s got both oars in the water.

Strip search her just in case she had any contraband that she could use to harm herself. Then toss her in a cold holding cell for 24 hours of welfare observation while wearing a prison safety gown. Serve her a cold breakfast of dry toast, watered down tang, cold scrambled eggs and a cookie. After that, set her court date and send her home after she pays bail.

Greta is an adult now, so she will be held accountable as an adult. Mommy and daddy aren’t around to protect her any more. Oh, and she has a boyfriend too. Birds of a feather flock together.

We need a new word to describe these events. “theatrical celebrity detention” is too cumbersome.
Or maybe just a new definition added to an old word. And turning a noun into a verb, which seems to be all the rage these days:
