How Did I Never Hear This Story Before?

There was a girl born with no legs and abandoned at the hospital.

A couple from a tiny town in Illinois adopted her. She idolized the Olympic gymnast Dominique Moceanu and said she wanted to be just like her.

Pretty improbable. A gymnast with no legs??

Well, Jennifer Bricker achieved the impossible. She became the number one tumbler in the state of Illinois. But at the age of 16 her life changed even more dramatically.

Her parents, who encouraged her by never saying “can’t”, held a secret. When Jennifer started asking about who her real biological parents were they delivered the news.

What would be the odds?

Her real biological sister was Dominique Moceanu.

  1. If she had declared that she was a man trapped in an armadillo’s body, who identifies as a Somali lesbian with a bi-polar disorder, who conquered bulimia through Marxism, she’d have gotten a special award from ESPN.

  2. So this woman was born without legs and became a championship tumbler. And yet our government enables small thinking by paying full freight for millions of people in perfect health who are just too lazy to work.

    CUT WELFARE BENEFITS NOW!

  3. For me, this is just more proof that God has his ways of working things for good. Had her biological parents had enough about them to have kept her, she likely would have never had the opportunity to learn and achieve at the level she does. She is much better off having been adopted by a family that loved her and put forth the effort to help her grow into what she is today. I’m sure a Romanian orphanage wouldn’t have produced such inspiring results.
