The U.S. blueprint to end the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians, still in draft form after almost two years, is seen by Palestinians, and by some Arab officials and politicians, as a plan to finish off the Palestinian cause.
The Palestinians are not buying it.
“What we’re seeing from the plan is that it will blow up the Palestinians,” one Arab official told Reuters. “The plan doesn’t give justice to the Palestinians.”
“The Palestinian cause is being liquidated – no Jerusalem (as capital), no right of return for refugees, no sovereign state. That is why this American project is dangerous,” one senior Palestinian leader told Reuters.
The deal as outlined so far has been dismissed by President Mahmoud Abbas’ western-backed Palestinian Authority in the Israeli-occupied West Bank.
Abbas has boycotted political dealings with the Trump administration for 18 months. This followed Trump’s decisions in 2017 to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and move the U.S. embassy there from Tel Aviv.
Since then, the Trump administration has curtailed aid to the Palestinian Authority, shuttered the Palestine Liberation Organisation (PLO) delegation in Washington and cut off finance to UNRWA, the U.N. agency supporting Palestinian refugees. Washington meanwhile endorsed Israel’s sovereignty over the Golan Heights.
“In practice they have already started implementing ‘the deal of the century’,” the senior Palestinian leader said, “on the ground, step by step”. “Today, the two-state solution has been scuttled”.
Abbas is not alone in his view of the U.S. deal.
It was rejected by the Islamist Hamas movement, which does not recognize Israel’s right to exist and has only given conditional consent to a state in the occupied Palestinian territories.
Can someone PLEASE tell me about a SINGLE favorable or fair deal with a muslim country (with the possible exception of Jordan) that did not involve at least a background promise of the use of overwhelming force? Time – WELL PAST TIME – to quit pretending!
You don’t. They understand extermination…start with that.
The Israelis declared the independence of their ancestral land in 1947. You raised hell and claim that Palestine is an ancient nation state even though it did not exist in the way it did until after WW I.
Your solution: ignore reality and peaceful resolution and resort to terrorism. Since you are muslims and lack intelligence as well as morality you seem shocked when the guns are turned on you.
Look across your border into Israel. They have a thriving high-tech sector, a thriving tourism industry, and are the only democracy in the middle east. This is happening while you guys are making explosive vests for women and kids. Why don’t you try getting asylum in the arab countries? What’s that? They don’t want you either. What a shock.
I think the only one of the points mentioned in the story (at least the piece on Fur’s page) that couldn’t have a meaningful negotiation (once Hamas, Hezbollah and any other terrorist group has been destroyed) would be the “right of return”. The Palestinians (yes I know that’s probably not their real name but why get hung up on nomenclature) want this right because they know it would swamp Israel with jew-hating arabs of all ages who have been taught that the only good jew is a dead one for about 7 generations now. That right, if granted, would seal the end of Israel and likely most of the middle east as the Israelis have nukes and would in all probability use them should the end be in sight.
Violence is the only thing they understand. That is how they communicate. They speak by mass murder. They murder innocents to convince people to support their cause. Their goal is too destroy an entire nation and the populations within. This was always so of nations under the influence of evil. Israel’s patience is remarkable. But also know that the entire arab world will unite against them if they solved the solution for good. BUT if missles were being launched from Mexico or Canada into the U.S. we would be sure to end it quickly. I think Israel should end it quickly.
By dying.
When the “Palestinians” decide to quit attacking Israel there will be peace.
So there will be no peace.
Our Local rag mentioned that Gov. Ron DeSantis (2024) was meeting with
“Embattled Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ”
Fuggin commies.
Ans. You don’t deal. You shoot them dead first chance. In the back, if necessary. Two in the chest and one in the head for good measure. I forget what that maneuver is called. But it works.
Where is Bad Brad, anyone?
There will be peace when one side or the other is dead.
If you believe in the Bible you know who wins.
Bobcat: Yup, the two best men on the planet, The Don and Bibi are always described as being “controversial” or “embattled,” or by some other negative connotation. The media SUCK.
