Clinton has admitted to destroying “private personal emails” as secretary of state. But Abedin’s admission that she used so-called “burn bags” — a container that material is placed in before it is destroyed — for some of her schedules is the first time anyone close to her has disclosed destroying public records.
The exact circumstances surrounding those destroyed records will likely come under intense scrutiny, critics said.
A former State Department official told The Post it was unprecedented for a diplomat to destroy a schedule like this.
“I spent eight years at the State Department and watched as four US ambassadors and two secretaries of state shared their daily schedules with a variety of State Department employees and US officials,” said Richard Grenell, former diplomat and US spokesman at the United Nations.
“I’ve never seen anyone put their schedule in the burn bag — because every one of them had astate.gov email address and therefore their daily schedules became public records, as required by law.”
Others said Clinton’s careful approach to her schedule further highlights her recklessness in using a personal server for all her email communications.
“The [president’s] schedule was not classified but it was deemed ‘highly sensitive.’ Instructions were given at the White House and on the road that schedules would be disposed of through the use of ‘burn bags’ and/or shredding,” said Brad Blakeman, a scheduler for President George W. Bush.
“This shows, in my opinion, a skewed sense of security. The Clinton people would dispose of the secretary’s schedule in the same manner as if it were classified yet those same safeguards were not in place with regard to email communications.”
Just the Tip
blahblahblah
We know she’s guilty. We also know no one will do shit about it. So while I appreciate the steady drumbeat of stories like this that paint her as a liar & thief. We are at the point though where you can’t paint the image any blacker-only thicker.
Burn this!
MM. Yes, the dead horse is kicked enough. Bury the damn thing or leave it rot.
There is a legal term, “mens rea” that means Guilty Mind. From this we developed our legal system to include the concept of culpable mental states that define a person’s state of mind while committing a crime.
There are four culpable mental states: 1)intentionally, 2) knowingly, 3) recklessly, and 4) with criminal negligence.
If none of these culpable (i.e. deserving blame, guilty) mental states are present, a person cannot,or should not, be prosecuted.
Hillary’s actions show that she displayed a culpable mental state that would support criminal prosecution for violating federal statutes.
She intentionally/knowingly assigned those documents to the burn bag. Also toss in recklessly because she knew she was causing damage to the public’s interest and did it anyway.
If it was done accidentally, she then acted with criminal negligence since she should have known better than to destroy public records.
And there’s a good chance she will be the next President.
The Clinton/Obama/Lynch trifecta could be the ticket that once and for all assigns federal jurisprudence to third world status. We are now Venezuela, Zimbabwe, hell – take your pick.
Huma should at least be charged with aidin’ and abedin’…
Replacing burqas with big burn bags would solve lots of problems.
Inquiring minds want to know:
Did either of these idiots realize that the schedule probably came from a computer that was backed up and a printer server that’s backed up as well?
Knowing that there will be nothing done to grant us Justice, reading more stories about the warp and weft of her perfidy are like when the Dentist zeros in on the cavity with with his pointy thing
“This one, right?” jab you a few more times “You’re sure?”
I have no problem with the steady drip of these stories. At some point, through whatever site or medium, another Nevertrumper (or the odd fence sitter) may just experience a flicker in what’s left of their brain to realize that Gary Johnson with a free bag of chips ain’t all that great a deal. Let it keep seeping out. Like Stalin said on another topic, quantity has a quality of its own. Pretty soon the puddle will be so big few can avoid it.
By Hillary delaying her and Huma’s testimonies until now, they have allowed the FBI to gather an ever larger cachet of evidence and testimonies. They will compare Hillary’s testimony against all other evidence. This will take a bit of time – maybe beyond the convention. This allows a black cloud to linger ever longer on the Democrat nominee.
Now the FBI owes us Americans a few things:
– They owe us a decision before election day.
– – If the decision is that no law was broken, they owe us a clear, explanation about that decision. If their explanation is vague or unbelievable, Trump will grind out “The System is Rigged” through election day
– – If the decision is to press charges, damage is obvious
– The FBI also owes us a view of all testimonies so we all have the opportunity to analyze it and find flaws in their analysis.
