Scientists have finally filled the gaps in the sequence of the human Y chromosome, 20 years after the first draft of its DNA code was published.
The work reveals a complete catalog of the genes in the male sex chromosome — the last human chromosome to be fully sequenced — and how they’re organized. More
The Y chromosome is what allows women to have testicles.
But what if it identifies as an X chromosome? Then what?
This article is misinformation!
I mean, get a load of this:
“The Y chromosome is one of two chromosomes, along with the X chromosome, that determine biological sex in humans. Females typically have two X chromosomes, whereas males usually have one of each type. ”
/sarc for those in the back of the room!
I get one column about 7 characters wide down the middle of the page at MSN – anyone else?
“…the last human chromosome to be fully sequenced — and how they’re organized.”
And how they are expressed in the organism, the repression or expression of specific pairs and what effect in solitary or grouped presences is still a mystery.
This is akin to having a map of a part of an ocean when you have no boat.
Laudable work, to be sure, that will assist future research. But on its own, practically worthless with the ancillary tools we have today.
@Wild Bill — What browser are you using? MSN is Microsoft, and so it may use features available when using Edge but not some others. Do you block scripts or ads? If so you may have to enable msn.com or some of its supporting servers to run scripts for you.
“Females typically have two X chromosomes, whereas males usually have one of each type. ”
I stopped reading right there.
It took so long to get it all lined up because it is the MALE chromosome and it refused to look at a map or ask for directions.
“As for developing new therapies to treat diseases that may be linked to the Y chromosome”
Oh, being a pervert, Trans, queer or any of the other 72 sexes could simply be a disease after all.
I just knew it had to do with the “Y” Chromosome. It’s always the guys fault./s
Very good, Uncle Al. I like it!!!
WhY, it’s full of…
It’s full of STARS!
A male professor could have explained it more clearly.
Now we have MODRNA and MRNA to redo the whole thing so they’ll have to start over.
What part of it is responsible for wanting to leave the seat up?
Well, if “soince-tists” jave “filled the gaps” tjen the result is a Rorschach test. It is whatever they say it is.
A friend’s wife, a microbiologist, was fond of saying that the Y-chromosome is twisted and carries no information, which explains men’s fascination with fire, speed, sharp objects.
So, Cynic, possibly explains the toilet seats too.
I do know that it manifests itself on a macro scale in that any carefully wound hose, cords, or cable will have multiple snarles and knots in it when deployed.

It’s the IDGAF part. I’d tell you more, but IDGAF.
So the whole gender thing is officially dead.
You is or you ain’t.
