As a horny young man, Loni Anderson was what tripped my trigger, Jennifer Marlow, how sexy is that.
I saw this then and it has been there every Thanksgiving since.
Should go down with Archie as one of the funniest sit coms ever.
As God is my witness…
ahhh…classics back when TV mattered and was not full of stupid idiots preaching to me about accepting women who are not women and American presidents who are not even American! HAPPY THANKSGIVING and be very thankful we are not going to listen to 4 or 8 years of that cackling hen!
@ Kool and the Gang, cackling, barking, that’s some grade A barnyard humour.
Lets see if I can quote the line. As God as my witness, I could have sworn that turkeys could fly.
Nothing to see here. Move along, folks.
This is still one of the funniest episodes of WKRP ever, my wife and I watched when it first aired and we laughed our asses off then and I’m still laughing at it. I always liked Bailey better than Loni Anderson. Why can’t they do real funny TV like this anymore? It ranks up there as a classic program for holiday TV shows with Jean Shepherd’s The Great American Fourth Of July on PBS’s American Playhouse.

Thanksgiving quiz
A: Wishbone
Q: What were the 2nd and 5th words of the sentence you muttered about Loni Anderson as a youth?
@sTevo: Close. Here’s the line:
“As God as my witness, I thought turkeys could fly.”
Mr. Carlson never saw the wild turkeys in my neighborfood. Those damn things look like B 17s overhead. Lethal.
WKRP was Classic. Johnny Fever had absolutely the best lines. Hot women, cool guys, nerds, goofs.
They still fly in Boone county, Arkansas (whether peta likes it or not).
The episode I liked most was when Johnny Fever and Venus Flytrap had to go to the remote transmitter and Johnny broke the telephone so they couldn’t be warned there was a bomb threat. His panic when they see the cop cars approaching was the best. LOL Phone cops hits two of my prior careers – telecom and broadcasting and I’ve seen someone in real life who mirrors almost exactly every character on that show.
Good turkey image.

🦃😀
Mr Carlson: “I can’t feel my foot!!”
Geoff – I had to make a DVD of GAFoJ from an old tape. Can’t find it’s been released. Shame
People in Iowa were coming out of their houses!
@Burner: Is this the Great American Fourth Of July show whereof you speak?

That’s it, the old man and his love of fireworks still kills me as well as Ralph’s crazy mom and her dishtowel pyramid scheme including all the towels she got from Mrs. Y.Y. Flertz of Fishigon, Michigan. Jean Shepherd was one the best American humorists of the 20th century, I love all his stories.
