DC: Sarah Huckabee Sanders dropped the gloves during her first White House press briefing, noting that she would never use Politico as a “source.”
The White House deputy press secretary took over for Sean Spicer Friday and fielded a question regarding a Politico report claiming the Trump administration is planning to gut the Office of National Drug Control Policy.
“Look, my first piece of advice would never be to use Politico for a source for your story,” she declared. more here
Now that’s an answer that has legs.
Watch, in 6 months when there are more and more heroin dealers in federal prison, the press will complain about prison overcrowding and how we selling heroin is a victimless crime that should be treated as a misdemeanor. They’ll whine about how mean this administration is and how uncaring Trump is towards the addicted. Then they’ll howl for more money for methadone programs instead of jail time.
I laughed when I heard her say that. She did a great job for her first on-camera presser. If anyone in this country thinks the WH press are fair, reasonable, or even smart people,they need to listen to the questions they ask. It’s ridiculous.

With any luck, it will be swamped out by the impeachment coverage.
(Oh, Madame Waters is bat shite foolish — and that won’t change. But the current regime is at least three long knives nights behind — and I can’t see them getting on schedule, let alone catching up, by fall. Best to fail fast, cut our losses, and move on — winter is coming.)
She did a great job at that press conference. If I were Trump I’d shift Sean Spicer to a different job and make Sarah the Press Sec. She had warmth, humor, facts, knew all the press by name and they seemed to have a rapport with her.
