My mom’s best friend was from Iceland. Mom told me that when she first moved here, she was freaked out by all the trees that grew right up to the roads. Iceland is so bereft of trees that she felt they were closing in on her … claustrophobic!

@Burner, not surprising since Icelandic horses, once exported, cannot return. Tack brought in has to be new and unused or sanitized. The horses there have no natural immunity to equine diseases so something that might just sicken a horse here, might kill a horse there.

I was there 20 years ago. It’s pretty neat.
The group I was with was planning on going to one of the hot spring heated pools to try it. Then I read that people come from all over the world to soak in the springs, many thinking it will help their skin ailments. That changed our minds!
