Linkedin: We at GE were interested to read comments Monday by Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), who told the New York Daily News editorial board that GE is among the companies that are supposedly “destroying the moral fabric” of America. The senator had been asked to cite examples of corporate greed at its worst. Somehow that got him to talking about us.
GE has been in business for 124 years, and we’ve never been a big hit with socialists. We create wealth and jobs, instead of just calling for them in speeches. We take risks, invest, innovate and produce in ways that today sustain 125,000 U.S. jobs. Our engineers innovate every day to build hardware and software solutions that meet real-world challenges. Our employees are proud of our company. I meet second- and third-generation employees whenever I travel across the country. I am one myself. Our suppliers and partners are proud of our company. Our communities are proud of our company. Our pride, history and hard work are real — the moral fabric of America.
Immelt is a leftist piece of shit, so it’s funny that another leftist piece of shit would criticize him. Immelt is part of the Obama corporatist scheme, where big players who kick back a lot of cash get all the government contracts and tax money, and the smaller companies get regulated out of existence.
Ohhh. . . HIM. . . . the “Jobs Czar”. How many did he create under O’Bozo?
“Immelt is a leftist piece of shit…”
Heh, my first thought seeing this was ‘oops, someone hasn’t been keeping up with the vig…’
Sooner or later even the dumbest, most corrupt CEO will learn that Biting the Hand That Feeds Them has a long history with marxists of all stripes.
Just as a great many lefties in good standing will wind up like Trotsky with an ice axe clanging off their thick skulls.
To an old fart Marxist like Bernie you can never be Marxist enough which does tend to upset the Marxists who think they are!
Is it kosher for a Marxist to call out a Marxist?
jeff is hurtinfg the ge retires by limiting their medical benefits hes no friend of the working man
guy… I’ve been paying attention to GE and its operations for more than two decades.
Free market capitalists embody the moral fabric of America.
Crony capitalists are the ones destroying that moral fabric.
(Crony capitalism is also known, and more accurately, as Fascism.)
Who bothers listening to this old stale communist Mad Hatter? only the ones with their hands out looking for free shit paid for by others…LOSERS!
Immelt and his GE was for crony capitalism before he was against it…… (he owns what he built, esp during Zero’s first term)
Sorry Jeffury, you’ll never clean that obama brown stain off your nose and lips.
You should buy a retirement condo next to Warren Buffett so you will have someone willing to tolerate you.
Imelt was the chair of Obama’s job creation committee. GE got a gov’t grant of millions of taxpayer dollars to build a new non-incandescent lightbulb plant. Once it got the money it announced the closing of all the US plants and construction of the new plant in China.
GE gets, on average, $5 million PER DAY in taxpayer grants. This does not include contracts to manufacture for the gov’t or service equipment it sells to the gov’t.
GE is the poster child for business having figured out how lobbyists and ownership of politicians is the easiest way to increase its bottom line.
Hey Immelt – – fuck you and the Bernie you rode in on.
Just sent back my GE shareholder’s ballot with a vote against Immelt. I do what I can.
Immelt can bite the knob. In his case, Sanders is right on the money.
