An illegal alien who was arrested in southern California while taking his pregnant wife to the hospital is wanted for murder in Mexico, immigration authorities said Saturday.
Joel Arrona Lara, 36, was detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers on Wednesday at a gas station in San Bernardino, California. At the time, Arrona was taking his wife, Maria del Carmen Venegas, to the hospital for a scheduled cesarean section, CBS 2 Los Angeles reported.
But immigration authorities say Arrona Lara is not just an otherwise law-abiding illegal immigrant. He is also wanted by Mexican authorities for murder.
Arrona Lara’s lawyer, Emilio Amaya Garcia, accused ICE officers of endangering Venegas and her unborn baby.
“In this case, not only did they put the life of the mother in danger, but also that of the child, who is a citizen of this country,” he told Univision on Thursday.
Most illegals keep a pregnant welfare mule in their vehicle.

a wanted murderer, in this country illegally, was lawfully arrested and will hopefully be extradited to where he belongs. They were going to a _scheduled_ cesarian appointment. Not an emergency procedure. Neither she, or her baby were endangered by his being arrested. If she was in danger, he placed her in it by driving her himself. She wasn’t in labor. Slimey lawyers do that sort of thing- give out only some of the information, and play on people’s emotions. They were on their way to an elective procedure (probably scheduled so she wouldn’t miss a TV show or something) so they could extract their new anchor baby, which you and I are most likely going to pay for. For the next 18 years.
