Covering the path outside Lake Como’s train station are sleeping bags and the few possessions belonging to the refugees.
Tourists are pictured sitting alongside the migrants’ makeshift beds with their luggage as they wait for trains.

It is good for the refugees to gaze upon the elite before returning to their life of squalor. It’s a chance of a life time, they’ll be able to tell their grandchildren of this experience as they sit outside their mud hut around the camp fire. Life is good.
