‘I’m a progressive student who’s scared my peers have gone off the deep end…’

OPINION: Social justice warrior opposes efforts by peers to shut down free speech.

College Fix: As a high school senior living in St. Paul, I was excited to visit the University of Minnesota to watch a joint lecture by Christina Hoff Sommers and Milo Yiannopoulos. It was to be one of my first campus experiences as I gear up to attend Ithaca College in New York this fall.

But what I discovered at this institution of higher learning shocked me to my core.

A raucous demonstration prevented me from even getting inside the door. The unruly protest included a throng of students holding signs and shouting that the university was supporting “transphobic hate speech.” They chanted “trans lives matter” and “end rape culture.”  more here

  1. “I’m a progressive student. . . “.
Stop. Right. There. Are you really? Look at what you’re doing, willing to listen to conservatives to see the other side of an argument. Upset by the disruptive actions of your “peers”.
Examine yourself. Read and listen to sources outside the usual crap being spoon fed to you.
You may be awakening from the “dark” to the “light”.
The journey won’t be easy, but it will be worth it.

  2. worried the peers have gone off the deep end. Really.

News flash pal, they aren’t your peers.

    They aren’t even “progressives.”

Those be communist agitators. You might be the last of the actual “progressives” be careful, they would love to suck you in too.

  3. I read his essay and it’s not bad however I do have a couple of questions. Did he not notice what was happening on campuses across the country for the past few years? Did it take an actual trip to a campus and the SJW’s having an actual impact on him to make him question what was happening under the “progressive” banner? What would have happened if this meeting had not been protested? Would it have been business as usual for him?
